Before and After

Scarlet was a bit miffed that she wasn’t included in my photoshoot yesterday (she isn’t a fan of road trips but loves attention!). When I got home it had already been dark for a while since I spent some time talking to the artist who runs Porter Sculpture Park and a couple from Australia who are literally taking a trip around the world and happened to stop there at the same time I did.

I think that Scarlet finds the shorter days at this time of year just as annoying as I do. It feels like there’s more time to get everything done when the sun goes down later, and it’s hard to see summer end!

The best lighting I could get indoors left a lot to be desired with Scarlet’s photoshoot, so it was a great opportunity to practice re-touching photos.

She’s always changing her mind about what her favorite place in the apartment is, but it’s currently on top of a bed chair I made in 2014 with custom-printed fabrics I designed using Victorian illustrations that are in the public domain. I left some of the yellow tint instead of fixing it since I like how it’s reminiscent of sepia-tone photos and show that it’s night time without the pictures staying under-lit.
